Cecily Strong is an American actress, comedian, and probably your favorite part of ‘Saturday Night Live’s ‘Weekend Update.’ The Illinois native joined the show in 2012 as a featured member, and quickly earned a spot as a main member of the cast. In 2013, after being promoted as a repertory player, she co-anchored ‘Weekend Update’ with Seth Meyers, and later with Colin Jost. In Season 40, she stepped away from the co-anchor spot to focus more on doing sketches with the regular cast. She’s best known for portraying a drunken Judge Jeannie Piro, as well as original characters Gemma, Dana, and The Girl You Wish You Hadn’t Started A Conversation with at a Party. In 2020, she was nominated for her first Primetime Emmy award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her work on ‘SNL.’ In 2021, she landed her own series, the Apple TV+ show, ‘Schmigadoon!’
