We’ve said it before (like, seriously, not to brag but we called this a long time ago), and we’ll say it again now that People has confirmed it: Julia Roberts’s wig in Mother’s Day is from Helix, the fake movie within a movie from Notting Hill. Like, it is literally the same wig, a Mother’s Day source confirmed. It has apparently been sitting on a shelf for 17 years, just waiting for its second chance in the limelight. We imagine it probably became the home to many spiders, and they eventually said in a spider meeting, “This wig has kept our ancestors safe for 17 years, now we must make the wig a star once again!” And then all the spiders banded together and pushed it off the old, cobwebby shelf. And then some costume person saw it and was like, “Damn, that was a good wig.” And then the costume person probably called Julia and was like, “Are you gonna be in another movie any time soon? Do you want your old spidery wig for it?” and Julia was like “I do!” And the rest is history.
When asked about her hair in Mother’s Day, Julia said, “I’ve heard a lot about my look in the movie. There’s a lot of interpretation about my look. I wish I could’ve put that much thought into it. It was kind of, like, quick putting it together.” Meanwhile, in the background, a family of daddy longlegs gave a knowing smile.
