The 31-year-old comedienne and former Whitney star recently opened up about the breakup during a stand-up performance. "She announced it," an eyewitness tells Us. "It kind of sounded like a bad breakup –- she talked about hating guys." The pair split over two weeks ago, another source adds.

Back in July, Cummings and the Battleship director, 51, were photographed cozying up outside of the Bowery Hotel in NYC'S East Village neighborhood.

Cummings created and starred in the now-canceled NBC series Whitney and is the co-creator of the CBS comedy 2 Broke Girls. She's currently doing stand-up on tour and is often a guest on friend Chelsea Handler's E! show, Chelsea Lately. (Her own E! talk show — Love You, Mean It With Whitney Cummings — made a quiet exit in February after one season.)
